Pulse Group Leaders

A Pulse Group is designed to develop relationships inside a growing church. Pulse comes from the thought that as women, we are natural nurturers. We have our hand on the pulse of the church, and so are able to recognize needs and pray, and transition from being a member to a minister. The list below shows our most current Pulse Groups Leaders, or you can choose from one of the links to look at the specific group and its leaders:

Forever 21 Young Adults (Carrie Johnson and Chanel Snead)
No Trial Left Behind (Tina Schick and Kellie Groves)
Got the T-Shirt... (Susan Berard and Joyce Baker)
G.L.A.M. (Angela Pepe and Miriam Johnson)
The Real Housewives of Las Vegas (Rebecca Burns and Jenny Loza)
Seasoned by Grace (Anita Treichel and Mimi Wlodek)
A Little Bit 'O Everythang (Desiree Lawrence and Gabby Cabrera)
The Well-Round Woman (Jennifer Henry, and Tifani Hall)
Women With a Vision (Gail Kreason and Marilyn Peterson)
FOUR-titude (Dawn McDaniel and Constance Myers)

Forever 21 Young Adults

Carrie Johnson

I'm 22 years old and I am one of the leaders for "Forever 21, Young Adults" table, along with Chanel Snead.

I moved here from Washington State and have been attending The Church for three years, and I couldn't be happier! Along with Real Women I love serving for the youth at Seven, singing on the weekends, and helping run one of the Young Adult small groups.

Some of the things I like to do outside of serving at the church include studying diet and nutrition, anything active like Pilates, riding my bike, or going to the gym. I also have a serious passion for cooking and spend a lot of time in my kitchen or trying new restaurants! I enjoy reading, traveling, spending time with friends, and all things crafty.

Chanel Snead

I’m 20 years old. I am from Rochester, New York and I have been here at The Church for two years. I came as an intern right out of high school, and it has been one of the greatest decisions of my life! I am so grateful for The Church and everyone here.

I know God’s hand has been on my life since i was born and to see where his faithfulness and grace has brought me is amazing! I look forward to seeing what he will do with the next 80 years I have here on this earth!

I love to laugh, sing, have fun, and hangout. I love the color PINK; pink clothes, pink anything. One day one room in my house will be filled with pink!

No Trial Left Behind

Tina Schick

I have been sold out for Christ for 22 years. I have an amazing marriage of almost fourteen years to my sweet husband, Mark Schick. We have four incredible kids, and praise God—they are all serving Jesus!

I love decorating, painting, and ministering to women. My first passion, though, is Christ and my family. They are the biggest and most precious gift I've ever been given!

Kellie Groves

My life verse is Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

In this verse I find peace, healing, and restoration as I walk in God’s will for my life. Just when I thought I was at the end of a chapter in my journey, God revealed a sequel to the story that was even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Part of that story was bringing my husband James and me to The Church at South Las Vegas in January 2009.

We have made this our church home, along with our two teenage boys, Charles and William.

Got the T-Shirt...

Susan Berard

I am a Grandma. I gave birth to four children. Two have returned the favor by birthing four more, so children really are the gift that keeps on giving. My grandbabies are very close; if they don’t see me for a few days, they call to complain. They are 8, 10, 12, and 4 (he never calls).

I met Jesus at seven and knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that He was indeed my All in all.

I have been at The Church for four years and I love it. It is absolutely where I am supposed to be. I feel so honored to be called to work with Real Women. I can hardly wait to see what God has planned as we open our hearts to hear from Him in this precious, special time.

Joyce Baker

I lived in Lakeland, Florida all my life. I’ve worked in management at several restaurants and after I retired from driving a school bus for 25 years for Polk County Schools, I moved to Henderson, NV to be with my youngest daughter and her family in May of 2005. I have one son, two daughters, one stepson, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

I was saved and came to know Jesus when I was nine years old. I have been a teacher and leader in different areas of the church. Then I left the church for eleven years, but God did not leave me.

I joined The Church of South Las Vegas five years ago. God keeps using me. Now I know what it means, “Saved to Serve.” We are all called to do something with what we have. Look at your hands; they don’t have nail scars in them, but they are JESUS’ HANDS. SO USE THEM. We were saved to serve, not to sit.

Fall in love with God.

G.l.a.m. (Generous, Loving, Anointed, Moms)

Angela Pepe

I am a savvy, stay-at-home mom who LOVES to bake, run, and shop! I am madly in love with God and my family. I just celebrated my 10th wedding anniversary with my high school sweetheart, Mark, whom I’m still head over heels for. Together we created our two beautiful kids, Madelyn (7) and Austin (3). I now consider myself a “Domestic Goddess,” a very different title than I’m use to since working in the Human Resources industry for over ten years. I am still adjusting to this role, but wouldn’t trade this experience for anything in the world. My family is my most prized possession.

I am an avid baker, as my friends, family and neighbors can attest to. I’m always trying a new recipe of some sort. I LOVE the smell of fresh baked goods ALWAYS. A great cup of coffee is the cherry on top! Nothing is more comforting to me than walking into a home and smelling the yumminess of something baking in the oven. My love for baking and eating has pushed me to run and workout out. Will run for food!!

I am passionate about life and God…He is everything to me. I’ve grown in my walk with Him since moving to Nevada from California 2 ½ years ago. Our family and God was all we had. He has been so faithful and personal, meeting each need and providing a powerful church to attend and wonderful friendships! God has revealed my gifting in hospitality and prayer—I love to host gatherings at my home, and be in constant prayer. I believe that prayer is powerful and changes things! I am in awe of who God is and am excited to see what He is going to do in this season of Real Women!

Come join our efforts in becoming the Proverbs 31 woman—connect with G.L.A.M. (Generous, Loving, Anointed, Moms)!

Miriam Johnson

I was born and raised in Chicago and moved to Phoenix in 1996 where I met my husband, Steve Johnson We moved to Las Vegas in 1999. We’ve been married almost 13 years and have four amazing children (3 girls and 1 boy). I’m loving every moment!

We recommitted our lives to Christ in 2003 at a local church. In 2006, I was led to music ministry, where God has given me the passion to sing and to minister through song. I assist my husband with the youth and his youth radio ministry, which is still going strong today. The church we attended for seven years closed in November 2010. But God had a plan for us (Jeremiah 29:11) and he led us to The Church at South Las Vegas, where I’m involved, singing at Real Women and in the choir. I’m also very honored and excited to be a Pulse Group Leader!

I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for five years. I love cooking and trying new recipes. I enjoy doing all crafts. I LOVE to shop, LOVE to entertain, and I LOVE being with my family. I have a HEART for God and his people!

Come and connect with G.L.A.M. (Generous, Loving, Anointed, Moms) this season at Real Women and be the Proverbs 31 women God is calling you to be!

The Real Housewives of Las Vegas

Rebecca Burns

I'm 40 years old, married, and have a beautiful 17-year-old daughter Brittaney. I grew up in California and graduated from a Christian high school.

In 2000, I relocated to Las Vegas. I found out very soon why it is called “Sin City.” As a single mother and not living for the Lord at that time, I found having extra money was very attractive to me. Within a matter of time, my body was no longer a temple of the Holy Spirit. Very shortly after that, I was completely hooked on smoking meth.

I can personally say from experience, we serve an awesome God! My body was ice cold and I felt my spirit leaving me. I cried out to God for help and He was there. Although Satan thought he had me, God stepped in and said: “I don't think so.” God took my messes and turned them into miracles. I'm so thankful for His love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. I truly love the Lord with all my heart and I’m so thankful that He allowed me a second chance at life.

Jenny Loza

I’ve lived in Las Vegas my whole life. My husband David is also from Las Vegas. We’ve been married for fifteen years. We have two boys: Nico (14) and Adrian (10). My family is the love of my life!

I’ve been attending The Church for six years and God has totally transformed my life from where I was to where I am now. There’s a song that reminds me of my life: “I saw a photograph of me, and I had to laugh because I’m not who I was.” I am not who I was; I am a new person from the inside out. It’s great having a relationship with Christ. Now my life is good and I have no complaints!

Seasoned by Grace

Anita Treichel

I married my high-school sweetheart at the ripe old age of 19 (by one week!), just before he shipped out to go to Viet Nam for a year. When I was 22, I was saved and a year later, Paul was saved. After being baptized in the Holy Spirit, we began leading groups as the Lord began his training process in our lives.

After eight years of telling our families that we were never going to have children, Jesus changed our hearts and we ended up having four natural-born kids (one boy and three girls). We had six kids in foster care at various times and adopted two of our foster children. They were 11 and 9 at the time of the adoption. Yep, 4 + 2 = 6! From all those kids we have nine grandchildren, which is the BEST!

We owned a Honda car dealership in Longview, Washington and sold it to go into full-time ministry in a church plant there. Later, two other churches merged with our church and my husband continued to be the lead pastor.

We moved to Las Vegas in 2002 and eventually found our way to The Church at South Las Vegas where my husband is currently serving as an Elder and the Chief Ministry Officer. I assist him in the office and as well as Pastor Benny where it comes to the stats for The Church.

I've never been busier or happier in my life! I love my family, friends, church, and most of all, I love Jesus!

Mimi Wlodek

My husband Adam and I have been married for 48 years and have two sons, one granddaughter, and four grand-puppies. In 2008 we moved to Henderson, soon enlarging our family by one member, a beautiful Retriever who moved into our hearts and our home. After we settled in, we visited several churches in our area but they just didn’t “fit.” Then we visited The Church at South Las Vegas, and we felt at home and knew this was where we wanted to serve.

I had a dramatic conversion experience at 28 and my life changed immediately and forever. I had never read the Bible, so the journey of knowing Jesus began that very day. Unfolding before me were the promises of God, given to all who believe, out of His heart of love. I was, and continue to be, overwhelmed by His goodness.

I’ve discovered anew Luke 12:48: Much will be required from everyone to whom much has been given. Because I have known the abundant grace of God in my life, I want to be available to help where I can, pray when I can, and love as I can.

A little bit 'o everythang

Desiree Lawrence

I've been attending The Church for seven years and being involved here has been a highlight of my life. I met the man of my dreams at The Church, Stacey Lawrence, whom I married in October 2010. I have three beautiful children.

I grew up in Santa Maria, California and lived in Memphis for ten years before locating to Las Vegas, Nevada where I’ve resided for the past seven years. I was blessed to have parents who were pastors and five siblings who enjoyed Sunday dinners with friends and family every week. This is where my love for cooking began.

As a child growing up in a large family with a mother who had a gift for cooking, I was allowed not only to enjoy her food, but to be in the kitchen with her as she cooked. As our Sunday dinner tradition continued, I developed a passion for cooking and soon learned that cooking comes from within the soul, and what ends up on the plate should reflect who you are.

God is faithful.

Gabby Cabrera

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I moved to Las Vegas in November 2007 as a newlywed military wife. Being in the military, my husband and I lived a very transitional lifestyle, so when we first attended The Church in 2008, we knew we had found our Seasonal Family! In May of 2009 we welcomed our first child, Edan Isabella, who is a 'big girl' of 2-1/2 years now. She is the most incredible example of God's love to us. And yes, we do plan on having more!

This past year has brought many changes to our life. Our season with the military came to an end and we are so blessed to still call Las Vegas, and more importantly, The Church, our permanent home!

Romans 8:28: And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them is our family scripture, as we have seen so much of God's faithfulness in our lives. He is the best Promise-Keeper!

Top Secret: I enjoy having Dance-Offs with my toddler when no one's home... however... she usually beats me. The chick has some moves.

The Well-Rounded Woman

Jennifer Henry

I started attending The Church at South Las Vegas three years ago when I moved here. This season of Real Women is my first year as a Pulse Group Leader and I am so excited!

I am a stay-at-home mom with three kids. I love shopping, going to the gym, fellowshipping, and spending time with my family.

One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.

Tifani Hall

I am the wife of Jon Hall and the mom of Jared (19) and Jordan (14). We’ve been at The Church at South Las Vegas since November, 2009.

In the last 22 years as a Christian, I’ve been a Sunday school teacher, children’s worship leader, youth pastor, circus clown, drama ministry leader, and missionary. I come from a family of performers and can, in fact, juggle and make balloon animals.

I’ve lived in Las Vegas since I was 3 years old; I was born in Bremerton, WA (I often dream of trees and water).

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Women with a Vision

Gail Kreason

It has been a joy to serve at The Church at South Las Vegas! Moving here from Clarkston, Michigan in the fall of 2008, I knew we had found our church home after our first visit. I began to submerge myself in the music ministry and attending Real Women where I began to develop some of the greatest relationships I have ever known. I’m quite certain they will remain for a lifetime.

The greatest gift in my life has been the love of God shown to me through my husband Jim and my two beautiful children, Andrew and Abigail. I am blessed to possess such rare treasure!

I am a full-time Evangelist and Psalmist who is absolutely passionate about loving and lifting people to the heart of God through song and the spoken word. I am a graduate of Jackson College of Ministries, Jackson, Mississippi and a graduate of Ministers Training School, Clarkston, Michigan. I was ordained into the ministry on May 3, 2001.

Marilyn Peterson

I have been happily married (yes, that is possible) for over 41 years and we have a daughter, a son, a daughter-in-law and a precious grandson born this year. I was saved and baptized at the age of nine, and although I probably strayed some during my teen years, I’ve never been without Jesus in my life.

I have been attending The Church since 2005 after moving to Henderson from Southern California in 2003. We are so excited to be involved and active in a church that is changing lives in Las Vegas through salvation, feeding the hungry, and ministering to those less fortunate.

Since moving here our life has not been an easy path, but we have learned to lean on Deuteronomy 31:6 that says the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you. He has walked with us through our trials and we are excited to see how he provides for us on a daily basis.

I have been playing the piano since I was 4 years old and have performed and played professionally for many years. I have been leading a small Praise and Worship group in my home for the past five years. My heart is in worship and I believe all my years of training have been for this purpose. My passion and the desire of my heart is to bring him glory in everything I do.

FOUR-titude

DAWN MCDANIEL

I am totally 100% fully in love with Jesus Christ!

He saved my life, and gave me the most incredible man on earth whom I have been married to for nine years, but we’ve been together for sixteen. We have four amazing kids who love Jesus. I have been walking with the Lord for about eleven years and attending The Church for eight years.

My life has been a total transformation. I have a sordid past, to say the least, but God has forgiven me of so much and given me the opportunity to share that love and forgiveness with others.

I love to minister to women. I love to cook, and play cards (I’m kind of competitive). Call me. I will make you dinner! Uh, if you play cards . . .

At our FOUR-titude Table we’ve experienced strength, endurance, and the ability to withstand hardship. And both Constance and I are moms of four!

Constance Meyers

I am a 38-year-old wife and mom of four children, three of whom I birthed naturally at home. I was saved at 15 years old when I was lying on my bed reading the Bible out of sheer curiosity. My husband and I met at church and got married after six weeks of courtship and one kiss. Twelve years later we are still married and happy! I am a former professional ballet/contemporary dancer. The discipline I acquired in the dance world has served me well in life, as well as in my dedication to follow Christ!

When I have free time I enjoy studying topics of health and healing through fasting and good nutrition. I love exercise and being in nature. My husband and I really enjoy our children, playing games with them, and doing our best to make their lives adventurous.

As for as my love for Jesus, let me say that if the Lord were to walk into the room, I’d sit on his foot, latch my arms and legs around his shin and ride on his sandal, going everywhere he went, a lot like some of us did as kids to our own dads. I love the Lord with everything that’s in me and desire nothing more in life but to fulfill the plans he has for me. Right now my favorite verse is found in Zachariah 4:6 “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord.” This passage seems to take the pressure off me and nullifies my personal inadequacies. The only responsibility I have is to bask in his presence, and I’m confident I can manage that!

Come join our FOUR-titude Table, where we’ve experienced strength, endurance, and the ability to withstand hardship. And both Dawn and I are moms of four!
